I used Ecover floor soap for the 1st time last week. I used it on lino and tiled floors.

It cleans the floors as effectively as any chemically product. It freshens and smells fab too.

And as there is no chemical residue left, I felt happy to let Dave-the-Tortoise roam around the kitchen floor after mopping the lino!

It’s a shame it says that it’s not to be used on “varnished, sealed, waxed or polished flooring”. That warning has made me scared to try it on my bamboo flooring, or my cleaning customer’s wooden floors. I just use my E-Cloth mop on them instead, but as you only use a bit of water with the mop, it doesn’t have the same aromatic fresh smell as using the floor soap.

If anyone has used Ecover floor soap successfully on wooden flooring, let me know!

I’ve used Ecover floor soap on my wooden floors that are oiled, I don’t know whether that counts. But I was worried when after a few washes I read the bottle properly. It didn’t stop me finishing the bottle off though, and my floor seems fine. Might be worth trying a small corner of floor under some furniture to see what effect it has?

I’ve since taken to using Ecover’s multi-purpost cleaning fluid, well diluted, and that seems to work fine too, with no bad effects.

Thanks for that Tracy. I’ve got a bit of leftover flooring, I’ll perhaps give that a bit of a soaking with the Ecover floor soap.
I use Ecover multi purpose diluted in a bucket too at the moment, which works well.

I found it leaves some floors especially laminate/tiled (which it does state not to use on laminate) really streaky. For oiled wood floors this type of cleaner would probably be good on, they normally use something called ’soapy cleaner’ that cost a lot more, but smells strangely very similar to ecover…..
